Profile

Computer Science graduate from the University of York with data engineering experience at Siemens Mobility, where I built an ETL pipeline that turned live railway sensor output into a usable database. My dissertation measured skin-tone bias in 3D face reconstruction. Everything on this site is something I built to solve a real problem I faced, so I built a real and scalable solution to solve it.

Experience

Founder, Mag Uidhir

2026 to Present
  • Building and running the product line on this site: the Integrated reMarkable Tutor, Caveman Coding and Job Hunt.
  • Designed and built this site: Astro on Cloudflare Workers, passkey authentication and a hard line between public and private editions.

Digital Innovations Intern, Siemens Mobility , Chippenham

June 2025 to September 2025
  • Built an end to end ETL pipeline in Python and PostgreSQL, turning messy output from live railway sensors into a bespoke database for on-site configuration and replacing processing previously outsourced to third parties.
  • Wrote a recursive JSON extractor for nested data of variable schema depth, bringing legacy analogue sources and modern digital sensors into one schema. It was still in production after I left.
  • Documented the system and pitched it for further funding; it was taken up by Siemens' Malaysian branch as a candidate for implementation.
  • Tested Spectra 2, an in-house application translating railway data formats between legacy and modern representations, through its 1.0 release, in an Agile team with daily stand-ups.

Head Waiter and Restaurant Supervisor, 288 Bar and Wok

2021 to Present
  • Full time through a gap year, then part time through university. Earlier part time roles at Taco Bell, Hilton DoubleTree and McDonald’s: I have worked throughout sixth form, a gap year and the degree.

Projects

Integrated reMarkable Tutor

Learning

Circle work on a reMarkable tablet in red to have it marked, in blue to have it explained, or write a command in grey. Each colour starts an agent grounded in your own course materials.

Caveman Coding

Learning

Thirty sessions across six caverns, from raw iteration to a neural network that reads letters, built with nothing but the standard library and your own hands.

Job Hunt

Careers

Finds jobs from the employers you follow, rates each one on how well you fit it, and manages every application from one place, with your CVs stored alongside and suggested changes for each role.

ChromoNet

Computer vision

A study of 5,000 faces showing that a widely used reconstruction pipeline renders skin too light, and an honest test of whether a biophysical correction can repair it.

Education

BEng Computer Science, University of York

September 2022 to January 2027
  • Degree awarded September 2026, conferred at graduation in January 2027.
  • Machine Learning and Optimisation 75%. Deep Learning 73%.
  • Dissertation: ChromoNet, measuring and correcting skin-tone bias in single-image 3D face reconstruction.

A Levels, Balcarras Sixth Form

2019 to 2021
  • Computer Science A, Mathematics B, Product Design B.
