Counter-Strafe Trainer

CS2 movement drills timed to the millisecond against the best the game allows.

1,000 steps/s Simulation rate Source engine friction and acceleration at CS2's defaults.
83 ms Example stop Against a best of 75, with 6 of the 8 ms traced to releasing the counter key early.
5 Training modes Practice, Comparison 10 + 10, Survival, Rapid Practice and Strafe.

What it does

Each drill measures your inputs to the millisecond and compares them with what the game’s movement rules say was possible. Rather than calling a stop good, it says the stop took 83 ms against a best of 75, and that 6 of those 8 ms came from letting go of the counter key early.

  • Practice: peek two angles, counter-strafe and shoot a swinging enemy, or switch to strafe only.
  • Comparison 10 + 10: two sets of ten reps side by side, to compare keyboards, settings or warm ups.
  • Survival: endless rounds against enemies that fire faster each time.
  • Strafe: air strafe sync for vanilla CS2 and KZ, with the optimal mouse movement for your sensitivity.

Honest limits

CS2’s own code is not public, so the trainer assumes it kept CS:GO’s movement and accuracy rules. A browser can only read the key events it is given, and a screen adds up to a frame of delay. The numbers are a precise model of the game, not a recording of it. Not affiliated with or endorsed by Valve Corporation.
